Community HubGlebe Farm Library Community Hub is a warm, welcoming space at the heart of the community. As well as offering books from our extensive lending library, learning support and activities, we support local people with debt, benefits, and wellbeing advice.
We're proud to host a community food club, run creative activities for children, and provide a relaxed space where everyone can feel at home. Whether you're here for support, community connection, or a quiet moment to yourself - we're here for you.

Hub History
Before Welcome Change took over and created a Community Hub, the building worked as a library for 73 years! It was opened on 22nd April 1952, constructed out of modern prefabricated reinforced concrete, took only a year to build and cost £7,750.
The library was due to be closed completely in 2025, but with hard work and collaboration with Birmingham Council, we were able to save it from closure. The Library doors closed officially on the 22nd of August 2025 and reopened just eight days later as Glebe Farm Community Hub. We still offer some library facilities. So if you have an up to date Birmingham Library card, you can come and borrow books from our varied range, and return them. We also offer access to a computer and help with using it, photocopying and printing. For other library services, the nearest Library is in Shard End.
The Hub Space
Set in a spacious garden surrounding the building, Glebe Farm Community Hub works as a much needed and valued little green space within the urban streets. The Hub sits in the middle of a large grassy lawn, dotted with wild flowers and cultivated plants, a few small shady trees, a smart decking area and even an outdoor table tennis table!
The building and garden are kept safe with a tall, smart green metal fence, and secure gates at the front and rear, which are locked overnight. The fence itself is interwoven with thick hedgerows, so there is some privacy available when we have events or hire the space out.
Inside the building we have a kids reading nook on one side and a large multifunctional area on the other, hugged by shelves of books, ready to be turned into a seating area for activities, a food shop for Community Fridge or cleared for kids playtime! We have three computers for the public to use, printers and photocopiers at the ready and scanners to check the books in and out.
