Welcome Change CIC

We are an organisation dedicated to encouraging enterprise (by which we mean helping individuals, organisations and communities to take the initiative and make things happen) and supporting communities (by empowering individuals as well as providing places where they can connect meaningfully with others in their local area).

  • We have a friendly, knowledgeable team of staff, supported by volunteers
  • We believe in working with partners, to maximise resources and join up provision
  • We know the areas in which we operate
  • We are here for everyone
  • We listen to local people to ensure we are delivering what they want
  • We continually adapt and change to meet evolving local needs

Safe Spaces

We are here to encourage interaction within our local communities and our network of venues make sure you have a variety of safe spaces to get involved. We provide a wide range of choices and options so you can find something to suit you.

How you get involved is up to you, you can use our spaces and services in your own way, at your own pace. From finding a quiet place by yourself to reax and reflect, to joining in community chat with a little cake and banter.

We always have staff and volunteers on hand to help, plus familiar faces from the area to chat to. We want to make sure you feel comfortable when your are with us; able to relax, communicate and interact without pressure. We create spaces where you can feel safe, listened to and valued. No matter how, why or when you choose to use our spaces, you are always welcome.

Activities

We offer a range of activities spread over our Community Centre, Community Hub and Community Garden designed to entertain and support, build skills and confidence, and keep both body and mind happy. Some activities we organise ourselves, others are offered by our partners or hirers.  Some activities are regular, some are one-off, some involve joining a club.  Some of our sessions are educational, some are just for fun!

Have a look through our Timetables and see what might suit you.  If you don't find what you are looking for, please drop in to talk to us, email us at hello@welcome-change.org.uk or phone us on 0121 785 2218.  We may be able to start something up.

You can drop into our Community Hub at Glebe Farm between 9.30am and 4pm on weekdays to read or research, access our computer, printing or photocopying services or enjoy a hot or cold drink and have a chat.

Guidance

If you need some guidance about how to tackle a challenge in your life, we are here to listen and support you in finding the help you need. If we don't know the answer to your questions, the chances are we will know someone else who can help.

Our partners Birmingham Mind and Birmingham City Council offer drop in sessions for mental health and occupational therapy advice at our Glebe Farm Community Hub on a Thursday.  You can book an appointment for debt and benefits advice on a Thursday at our Glebe Farm Community Hub between 9.15am and 1pm from our partner Gain.

Our staff can also support you with research, using email, learning, volunteering and community involvement.

You may also find our Wellbeing pages a useful place to discover what you can do to support your own health and wellbeing.
