Library Services

A Library With a Difference

The Library Services at Glebe Farm are still going strong, we just have the added twist of being an active community hub as well! It's quite a unique combination and we are proud to be able to offer the local community a safe space to relax, interact and learn.

The walls of our Community Hub are packed with books, so without central isles, we have plenty of space in the centre for sessions and events. The books are separated into subjects, with our children's and teen's books in a separate area. For a small library, we've managed to pack in plenty titles to our collection. We have around two thousand books in the children's and teen's area and around three thousand in the adult and general reference area.

Computers and Internet

Like most modern libraries, we have PC's available to use for free along with photocopying and printing that we charge for;

A4 Black and White - 20p per side           A4 Colour - 50p per side

We have three PC'S available, all internet connected. You don't need to prebook a time slot, just turn up and we will find you a space and you can work at your own pace. Alternatively, if you have your own laptop you are welcome to bring it along and use our internet here with no charge. So if you use your laptop to work from home and need a change of scenery, or a quiet space, we can find you a quiet area to work from and a cup of tea to get you started.

Fiction

Fiction, is the word used for literature that comes from the authors imagination. An idea or scenario that was created, rather than a real documented fact. Fictional books are called novels, but you can use the word fiction for film, TV and plays. These stories often use a blend real world aspects such as places and events, along with made up characters.  They can be set in any era and timeline, the real everyday world or surreal worlds, real or fictional people. Because there is such a mix, bookshops and libraries will have the novels set out in categories.
