The Community Centre Space
You can find The Welcome Change Community Centre in the busy residential area of Shard End in East Birmingham, just by the library and shops. We have parking available right outside the entrance and an access ramp if you need it. Or if you are visiting by bus, there are several routes that stop by us regularly.
Inside you will find a clean, spacious hall, neatly panelled in pale blue, large windows all around to let in natural light and overhead strip lights for darker days and evening time.
This multifunctional space can be hired out and has been used for weddings, discos, parties, dinners and even pantomimes! Our regular weekly hosts include dance classes, a stage school, and martial arts lessons.
What's On?
From dance classes to martial arts, quizzes to cakes, our Shard End Community Centre is jam-packed every day with a diverse range of events and activities to suit all age groups - babbies upwards! We're here to help with food too. On Wednesdays our staff and volunteers are busy in the kitchen preparing and serving meals and organising activities for our popular Luncheon Club. On Thursdays North Solihull Food Bank has partnered with us to provide groceries, and a new 'Welcome to Your Best Life' friendly community café will be opening soon on Tuesday and Thursday mornings offering breakfasts to eat in or take away.

The Luncheon Club
Welcome to our Luncheon Club – a friendly, welcoming space where everyone is invited to come together, enjoy good food, and connect with others. For just £6 per session, you’ll start your day with a light breakfast of tea, coffee, and toast (with jam or marmalade), followed by a delicious homemade lunch and pudding. But it’s about more than just meals – our club is all about community. We aim to tackle loneliness and bring people together through conversation, laughter, and classic games like bingo and hoy. Whether you're coming for the food, the fun, or the friendship, there's always a seat at the table for you.
Dazzlers Dance School
Join our friendly, fun-for-all dance school! We offer classes for ages 2 to adult (children from 22 months welcome if out of nappies). Some classes are full, but we can add you to waiting lists for the next available spot.
Our classes include: Gymnastics, Musical Theatre, Modern, Lyrical & Acro, Boys Classes, Circus & Cheerleading, Street Dance & Dinky Dance, Stretch N’ Motion, Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Body Conditioning, Contemporary & Commercial and 1-to-1 Classes & Private Lessons.

Expression Dance Studio
Expression Dance Studio holds classes for ages 3+ in dance (ballet, tap, modern and lyrical), gymnastics and musical theatre. We offer school shows, competitions, examinations and other performance opportunities - the Principal trained professionally at Bird College in London, so has an excellent knowledge and understanding of dance and the industry. We are a friendly, welcoming school that promotes a family environment and wants the students to feel confident and proud!

Encore Stage School
Encore Stage School is an inclusive, community-focused theatre school based at the Welcome Change Community Centre in Shard End, Birmingham. We provide high-quality training in dance, music, acting, and production to young people aged 2 and up. Our wide range of classes includes tap, musical theatre, gymnastics, ballroom, heels, commercial dance, singing, acting, and a movement and music class for toddlers.
We are proud to offer students incredible opportunities to take part in professionally-led musicals and original productions, as well as additional performance experiences through partnerships with local theatres, including amateur pantomimes and musicals. Odyssey Kick Boxing
Kickboxing is a striking style that can incorporate punches, kicks, knees and much more. At Gods of War we blend many kickboxing-based martial arts, such as Karate, Muay Thai and Taekwondo, to create a system that we feel each person can learn and adapt to enhance their sport.
Satori Mixed Martial Arts
We are a Mixed Martial Arts Academy who specialise in fitness, Self-defence and Self-confidence. At Satori we teach our students a unique syllabus which is made up from what I have found to be the best of a variety of styles.
